First, what is chamoy?
Chamoy is a sweet spice from Mexico, made from fruit, usually apricot, plum, or mango, with chili, lime, and salt. Every bite is sweet and tangy with a gentle warmth. Around here it goes on everything from fresh mango to candy to raspas.
So what is a chamoy candy apple?
Many people call it a Mexican candy apple. At Belleeah's, we start with a fresh Red Delicious or Granny Smith apple, dip it in a glossy hard crack candy shell, and then coat it in chamoy. You get the crunch of a classic candy apple, the juicy apple inside, and a sweet spice finish that keeps you going back for one more bite.
Red Delicious or Granny Smith?
Both are good, and it comes down to taste. Granny Smith is tart and extra crisp, so it leans into the tang of the chamoy. Red Delicious is sweeter and milder, a good pick if you want the candy to lead.

Our Chamoy Candy Apple comes in four chamoy flavors: Regular, Mango, Watermelon, and Blueberry. Each one is $7 and individually wrapped, so it travels well to a party, the office, or the car ride home (if it makes it that far).
Is it spicy?
Not the way hot sauce is. Chamoy is a sweet spice, so you taste sweet and tangy first, with a gentle chili warmth underneath. If you like mango with chili powder, you'll feel right at home.
